During Labour Day, a couple of friends and I decided to go
on a short hike up to
Mulgoa Rock Lookout; there is a longer hiking trail that
takes about 30-40 mins to complete but we decided to take the trail which takes
about 5-10 mins from the car park. To get to the car park there is a long and fairly
steep dirt road you have to take, the trip towards the car park looks so far
removed from the city that you would think you’re suddenly in the bush in the
middle of nowhere. The view from the lookout is lovely and the area is secluded
and very quiet, you cannot hear any surrounding noises once you get up there. The
place would be perfect to watch the sunset if you don’t mind driving back in
complete darkness with only the car headlights as your source of light. I do recommend visiting the place if you're looking for a quiet, secluded and relaxing place which may not be as popular as other hiking trails or lookouts.
