Wedding Cake Rock

The Wedding Cake Rock is one of the tourist attractions along the Royal National Park Coast Track. The location is popular to photographers and bushwalkers for its scenic bush trail and beautiful ocean view. The rock is named for its resemblance to a white sheet cake like those used on a wedding cake. The trip towards the attraction was difficult as it is quite a distance away from the trail entrance and there are quite a few uphill sections but the view at the trail is picturesque; you can overlook the ocean from the rock cliffs. The location of Wedding Cake Rock also offers a great photo opportunity although there is a fence surrounding the rock itself as it is not stable and has been victim to vandals in the past. We started the hike a bit late so the sun was already going down when we got there but it did result in some interesting photos. Hiking back wasn't as fun as it was completely dark when we finally made our way back.
